Graveyards
There are some places that are tailor-made for black and white photography, and top of the list are churches and churchyards. They are generally grey places, with not much colour to be found. They are also old so everything is weathered, with great textures everywhere. Finally and most importantly they are sombre and moody places, perfectly suited to monochrome work. Added bonuses are that they are all over the place, they are great in bad weather and free to get in. So, if the weather is poor or you haven’t got the time to go far, you can do a lot worse than pack up your kit and get down to the graveyard.
